Hey there Beauty Birds! It’s been a while since I’ve shared some SkinOwl approved beauty DIYs with you. With winter in full swing and the cold weather wreaking havoc on our skin, I thought it was about time. These beauty DIYs are inspired by one of my favorite SkinOwl products, our Matcha Beauty Bar. Specially formulated for dry, tired, and dull skin, this gentle cleanser is perfect for your winter regimen. Nourishing olive oil, castor oil, cocoa butter, and shea butters soften, nourish, and deeply moisturize the skin. While, Matcha Green Tea revitalizes and awakens the skin, delivering potent antioxidants and helping your skin look calm and clear.
Because matcha is the perfect winter skin ingredient, here are 5 SkinOwl approved DIYs that will take your skin from tired and dull to radiant and nourished!
DIY Matcha Lotion Bars
These deeply hydrating lotion bars are amazing (1) because they contain our favorite ingredient, matcha, and (2) because they don’t require any packaging or waste! They’re the perfect sustainable solution for your body care needs. Simply rub them into your skin while it’s wet from the bath or shower to seal in moisture.
Here at SkinOwl, we like to make these bars vegan by replacing the beeswax with a plant wax such as carnauba wax or candelilla wax. We also like to substitute coconut oil with a mixture of our super nourishing SkinOwl Body Oil and a carrier oil of our choice such as olive, almond, or avocado oil.

DIY Energizing Green Tea Eye Mask
Had a long night and looking for a pick-me-up? Your puffy eyes will thank you for using this energizing matcha eye mask to awaken them. Plus, its antioxidant benefits will help tighten, tone, and protect your eyes from free radical damage. Try popping this mask on next time you find yourself wishing you could give your skin a dose of caffiene.
This mask contains aloe, honey, and of course, matcha. Three ingredients to deeply hydrate, brighten, and awaken your eyes. Make sure to apply some cooling Eye+ once you’re finished to calm and further nourish the eye area.

DIY Matcha Sugar Scrub Cubes
The key to beautiful skin this winter is exfoliation, especially if we’re talking dry, sensitive legs and arms. These sugar scrub cubes are the perfect solution to exfoliate and awaken your skin. Plus, they’re just adorable! To use, rub into your arms and legs to gently slough away dead skin while providing hydration.
Here at SkinOwl, we like using our nourishing SkinOwl Body Oil as the oil component. This will give your skin an extra boost of hydration.

DIY Matcha and Clay Detox Face Mask
Anybody else love the idea of detoxing your face with purifying clay while infusing your skin with energizing and antioxidant-rich matcha at the same time?!? Sounds like a match-a made in heaven to me. Get it! The best part about this mask it that you only need 3 ingredients: matcha green tea, bentonite clay, and a hydrator.
Here at SkinOwl, we skip the yogurt and use our Lemongrass Beauty Mist to wet the mask so that we can smooth it onto our skin. We love the benefits of cooling cucumber and cleansing lemongrass in combination with the clay and matcha.

DIY Matcha Bath Melts
These Matcha Bath Melts are similar to our lotion bars, except they are intended to effortlessly hydrate your body while you enjoy a relaxing bath. Just drop them into your warm bathtub and watch as they melt. Your skin will absorb their delicious, nourishing ingredients and be awakened by energizing matcha.
To make this recipe vegan, simply replace the honey with your SkinOwl Body Oil and remove the beeswax entirely. No worries, the hard cocoa butter should help them keep their shape even without the wax, just make sure to store them in a cool dry place.
