Skinny Tips: Apple Cider Vinegar Toner DIY

We get a lot of questions asking about TONERS. “What are they? When do I use one? Can I use it at night if I used it the morning already?” A skin toner can help reduce oil and acne while refreshing your skin and shrinking pores. Unfortunately, most commercial toners are made with alcohol that can dry your skin because they often contain fragrances, preservatives, and chemicals that can irritate your skin. So when we came across this Apple Cider Vinegar Toner DIY we just had to pass it along!  You can make your own apple cider vinegar skin toner for a fraction of the cost and without alcohol, fragrance, or chemicals. Yahoo! Check it out…

apple cider vineager toner

Ingredients and Supplies:

Apple cider vinegar
Distilled water
A small plastic bottle to store your toner
A funnel
A glass bowl

In a glass bowl, mix one part apple cider vinegar and three parts distilled water. If your container is four ounces, use one ounce apple cider vinegar and three ounces of water.
Mix well and pour in your bottle using the funnel.
To use, wet a cotton ball with toner and wipe your face.
There are many kinds of vinegar available, but apple cider vinegar works best because it is the right Ph balance for your skin. Regular vinegar is too acidic and can irritate your skin. You can find apple cider vinegar in the grocery store with other vinegars and salad dressings.

If you have oily skin, you may want to add a little more apple cider vinegar. For dry skin, use more water. If you notice that your face is too oily or too dry after using this recipe, adjust it to your needs the next time you make it. Homemade apple cider vinegar skin toner does have a strong odor, but it will fade quickly after using it.

You should use a skin toner at least once a day to make sure you remove all of the oil, dirt, and dead skin cells on your skin. These can clog pores and lead to acne. A toner can also make large pores appear smaller temporarily, which improves your complexion.

Hold one tiny strand at the tip of the twist and push the remaining hair up into a ringlet on your head.
Wrap the remaining strand around the ringlet and use a bobby pin to pin the ringlet to your head.

dry brush lymph nodes

Did you know that your skin is your largest “elimination” organ and  it releases about a POUND of waste every day?!  If you are not feeling well it will often show on your skin, and if your skin can’t release those toxins it can often result in an uprising of inflamed acne, maybe even rashes, itchiness, body odor, etc.  Which is why we recommend Dry Skin Brushing.  It’s a simple process that you can do at home!  Simply choose a natural, semi-firm bristled brush and exfoliate the skin before your shower.

This process is great for circulation, immunity and stimulating your nervous system. Plus it will leave your skin looking radiant, vibrant and fresh!

When you spend time dry brushing, you are also stimulating the blood and lymph flow, and your lymphatic system is a key player in cleansing the immune system!  So follow the chart above and start Dry Brushing your way to a stronger immune system and glowing skin!
