Spray on clean, well-conditioned damp hair. Run your fingers through to distribute, twisting sections of hair into ropes to further define waves. Skinny Tips: DIY Orange Vinegar Home Cleaner

We all know how some products can effect our skin (and our overall health) in a not so positive way! Even things that are supposed to protect us from germs, like cleaning products, can have a negative effect on our bodies.  So naturally, we were super excited when we came across this fantastic DIY for Orange Vinegar Cleaner!  It combines good old-fashioned vinegar with sweet smelling orange peels for a home cleaner that actually works!  Check it out…

orange vinegar cleaner diy green cleaner

1 16-ounce canning jar

2 oranges, peels only (eat the insides!)

vinegar to cover

Curl the peels around the inside of the jar.  I used two large oranges and would not have been able to fit another peel.  If your oranges are small and you could fit another peel, feel free to add one more.  Pour vinegar into the jar to cover the peels and close tightly.  Store in the cupboard for two weeks, then transfer the vinegar to a spray bottle and use for all your cleaning purposes!

Note:  You may want to dilute the vinegar with 50% water for general cleaning.

Skinny Tips: DIY Foot Mask

Running around in open-toed shoes this summer is a must, which is why we love this DIY Foot Mask!  It has a rich blend of spices which are all circulation boosters and mild stimulants that will help increase blood flow and sooth tired feet! Check it out, your tootsies will thank you!

diy foot mask

1/2 cup whole oats
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
4 tablespoons warm water
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
4 drops SkinOwl Argan Infusion Oil (or your favorite essential oil)

Using a food processor, grind the oats to a fine powder. Transfer to a medium-size bowl, add the remaining ingredients, and stir until blended into a thick paste.

Prepare two warm, wet washcloths or hand towels, either by wetting them and placing them in the microwave for one to two minutes or by soaking them in hot (not boiling) water. Wring out excess water and set aside.

Sitting with your feet in the tub or a large basin, use your hands to spread a thick layer of the mask over each foot, covering them completely up to the ankles. After wiping hands clean, wrap each foot in one of the washcloths to seal in the moisture from the mask. Sit back and relax for 10 to 15 minutes.

When you’re ready to remove the mask, carefully lift off the washcloths. Rinse your feet thoroughly using warm water. Pat dry with a towel.

Skinny Tips: DIY Coconut Body Scrub

Coconut Oil is great for your skin!  It provides moisture and helps to strengthen underlying tissues which increases the elasticity of your skin and leads to a glowing, youthful appearance!  We were so excited when we came across this DIY for Coconut Body Scrub (you can choose a sugar scrub or a salt scrub, depending on your preference).  These cost effective scrubs are easy to make, and keep in your shower, so that you can always have soft, radiant skin from all natural ingredients!

All you need are the ingredients below (and maybe even a fun Mason Jar!) Enjoy!

diy salt sugar coconut body scrub lavender

1/2 cup of organic sea salt
1/3 cup of organic raw sugar or 1/3 cup of organic cane sugar {tip: cane sugar is softer than the raw}
1 cup of room temperature coconut oil {best when it has a liquid consistency}
30 drops of SkinOwl Argan Infusion Oil (or other essential oil of your choice)

1/2 cup of organic raw sugar or 1/2 cup of organic cane sugar {tip: cane sugar is softer than the raw}
1/3 cup of organic sea salt
1 cup of coconut oil {best when it has a liquid consistency}
30 drops of SkinOwl Argan Infusion Oil (or other essential oil of your choice)

Add ingredients in order listed above, topping it off with coconut oil {add more coconut oil if you like it less dry}. Then, add essential oil and stir with a butter knife. Skinny Tips: DIY Body Butter

We believe in going as natural as you can possibly go!  So why not make your own Body Butter?  Store bought moisturizers can contain a lot of chemicals which get absorbed into your body through your skin.  So we found a Body Butter DIY that is 100% natural and that you can easily make at home!  So get your double boiler ready and give this recipe a whirl!

Want to give it an extra moisture boost? Mix in five drops of your SkinOwl Argan Infusion to take this cream to the next level of aromatherapy.  Choose from Lavender, Geranium, or Clary Sage in our online store for an extra boost of nourishment.

diy body butter

Makes 2 1/2 to 3 cups whipped butter.

1 cup Organic, raw shea butter
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup almond oil

Melt shea butter and coconut oil in the top of a double boiler. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.
Stir in almond oil and SkinOwl Argan Infusion Oil (or essential oils of your choosing).
Place oil mixture in freezer or outside to chill.
Wait until oils start to partially solidify then whip until a butter-like consistency is achieved.
Place in clean, glass jar and enjoy! A little goes a long way.

1. You can use what ever oils you wish, just make sure you keep the ratio 75% solid to 25% liquid.

2. The chilling step is crucial. If you don’t chill it properly, it won’t whip or stay whipped. About 20 minutes in the freezer usually does the trick for this batch. Make sure you scrape down the sides before mixing.

3. Since this recipe does not contain any water, it will not mold. You should keep in a cool place but it does not have to be refrigerated.

4. We do not know the exact shelf life but it should keep at least a few months, plus.

5. The body butter melts as it goes on and gets a little oily but absorbs beautifully, quickly and leaves your skin very soft.
