Pump Up the Glow with these Hydrating Foods
Watermelon
Thanks to its unique combination of salts, minerals, and natural sugars, watermelon actually hydrates your body (and skin!) better than water. Here at SkinOwl, watermelon is one of our favorite skin-healthy snacks.

Cucumber
Being composed of mostly water, cucumber is not only a great hydrator, it also helps alleviate swelling and inflammation thanks to its caffeic acid and vitamin c. Try adding some cucumber and citrus slices into your water to deeply hydrate and detoxify your body.
Carrots
No wonder bunnies love this veggie so much! Carrots are 87% water, but more importantly, they contain the highest amount of beta-carotene, a potent antioxidant that fights free radical damage and even helps protect you against cancers. We like adding carrots into our fresh pressed juices.
Celery
Did you know eating celery hydrates your body twice as well as a glass of water? Crazy right! Its mixture of mineral salts, amino acids, and vitamins help make it such a powerful hydrator. Anyone else remember eating celery with peanut butter and raisins as a kid?
Grapefruit
Not only does grapefruit help hydrate and nourish your skin with its high water content, vitamins, and minerals, it also helps control your appetite! Looking to slim down? Try incorporating grapefruit into your diet to help curb snacking.
Pineapple
This hydrating fruit has other special abilities, such as being an inflammation fighter thanks to its bromelain.
Strawberries
Being composed of 92% water, these little goodies are not only delicious, they’re also healthy! Strawberries contain B vitamin folate which helps keep your arteries clear.
Kiwi
Not only are these fruits a wonderful hydrator, kiwis also contain 20% more vitamin c than an orange. Try one of these guys the next time you’re feeling a cold coming on.
