Sometimes my skincare routine can feel a bit tedious. I bet we can all relate. Remove makeup. Cleanse face. Exfoliate face. Treat. Moisturize. The list seems to go on and on. When I introduced the Beauty Bars into my routine, they did simplify it. Using a bar of soap seems to speed the process along a bit. After I fell in love with the tomato bar, I decided to give the charcoal one a try. The tomato bar, being gentle and cleansing, was perfect for day-to-day use. The charcoal, a bit more abrasive, exfoliated my skin beautifully and kept my skin clear when using it every other day.
Juggling two beauty bars in my routine inspired this DIY. Instead of having to keep up with two different bars of soap, I decided to stick them together to create a cleansing and exfoliating two-in-one beauty bar. This DIY is perfect for travel, especially when using the mini beauty bars, and also works wonderfully with our turmeric and matcha bars.
Pairing Your Beauty Bars: Which Combo is Right for You
Cleansing Bars
Our tomato bar is targeted at oily, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. The fresh tomato juice and rich cold-pressed oils helps cleanse and nourish the skin, while absorbing excess oil.
Our matcha cleansing bar is designed for aging or tired skin. Matcha green tea energized and pumps the skin full of antioxidants, promoting firm skin that retains moisture and slows down the aging process.
Exfoliating Bars
Our charcoal bar is targeted at uneven and combination skin. The activated charcoal in the bar helps draw out impurities from deep within the skin while acting as a gentle exfoliant when applied directly to the face.
Our turmeric bar is designed for all skin types. Oatmeal seals in moisture while turmeric reduces inflammation and exfoliates the skin, helping it retain a youthful glow.
How to Create your Exfoliating and Cleansing Beauty Bar Duo
For this DIY, all you’ll need are two full-sized or mini beauty bars, a dull knife or fork, and some water.
First, wet one side of each beauty bar. Then with your knife or fork, gently make shallow cuts back and forth on the wet side of each bar. Next, firmly press the wet sides of the bars together and hold for about a minute. Lastly, set you beauty bar duo aside to dry for an hour or so. After drying, your beauty bar duo is ready to use!
