Feed Your Beauty: Sugared Cranberries

We are starting to reach our sugar limit this holiday season BUT not before we serve some Sugared Cranberries at our Christmas Party! These tiny treats are just too cute to pass up. PLUS cranberries are a natural antioxidant which can help to regenerate, moisturize and brighten the skin! So go ahead and give these easy-to-make cuties a try! A couple more bites of sugar won’t hurt…
sugared cranberries simple recipe

1 cup + ⅓ cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 cup fresh cranberries

In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water. Cook until sugar dissolves, then remove from heat and allow syrup to cool to room temperature. (If you want to cool it quickly, pour it into a large mixing bowl and stick it in the fridge or freezer).
Spread remaining ⅓-cup sugar on a plate. Stir cranberries into the cooled syrup, then use a slotted spoon to fish them out, letting excess syrup drip off. Roll the cranberries around in the sugar. Let them sit there for about 30 minutes, until sugar hardens.

Skinny Tips: Decorating With Sage

We love the holidays and we love to decorate… AND we also love sage (e.g. our Clary Sage Argan Infusion).  This fragrant green herb is not only great for your skin, tastes delicious in your food, BUT it can also provide a wonderful way to decorate your table for your next holiday feast!  Take a look at these three adorable decoration ideas that we stumbled across on Lemon Tree Dwelling!  What creative ways have you used herbs or flowers to decorate?

Things We Love: Cinnamon Wrapped Candle DIY

We are planning our Thanksgiving and holiday decor, and we can’t resist something that looks good AND smells good… AND is quick and easy to make at home! Insert this Cinnamon Wrapped Candle DIY we found! It’s simple and inexpensive to make, PLUS the scent comes from natural cinnamon sticks as opposed to chemical fragrance.  We can’t wait to use these on the table of our next holiday party!

Cinnamon wrapped candles

Cinnamon Sticks
Rubber Bands
Twine or Ribbon

Place your rubber band around your candle and then place your sticks under the rubber band. To add interest, I varied the height and also varied whether the line on the cinnamon sticks faced outwards or toward the candle.

Once the entire candle is covered in sticks, wrap twine or ribbon around the rubber band in order to conceal it. Accessorize however you want and you’re done!

If you’re concerned about a fire hazard, just opt for battery-powered candles. They also warm slightly, so the cinnamon scent will still be spreading throughout your home.

Things We Love: Pebble and Jar Brush Storage Idea

We are probably all guilty of mistreating our brushes!  But it can be hard to find a “safe” place for them where they don’t get smashed and mixed up with other brushes.  That is why we love this space saving and brush bristle salvaging storage idea!

brush storage jar

Simply get a tall glass jar, fill it with pebbles (keep it simple or get some fun colors), and then place your brushes in, handle side down!  This way you can see all the brushes you have and you can close the lid on the jar when you are not using them which will keep them out of the way of dust particles!  Ta-da!
