Skinny Tips: DIY Exfoliant Moisturizing Mask

With so many products on the market, advertising a lot of the same things, it can be overwhelming to commit to just ONE cleanser, ONE serum, or ONE mask. That’s why we love making amazing products out of the comfort of our own home. We love a mask that exfoliates while it moisturizes and at the same time (being inexpensive and easy to make doesn’t hurt either!) Check out this DIY Exfoliant Moisturizing Mask that you can make tonight at home. Just follow the simple instructions using ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen right now!  Go ahead and give it a try and watch your skin glow…

diy exfoliant mask avocado lemon

Ingredients:

¼ of an avocado (mashed with fork)
1 slice of lemon (squeezed juice)
½ tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of honey
3 to 5 drops of your favorite SkinOwl Argan Infusion Oil (optional)

Directions:

Use fork or spoon to mix ingredients in a bowl. So simple!
Before you apply, take a warm wet towel and hold over your washed face for 2-3 minutes. This will open up your pores.
Use your fingers or a synthetic foundation brush to apply. The mask may drip, so be sure to have a shirt that you can wash.

Relax for 10-15 minutes. Wash well with warm water. Apply moisturizer.

raspberries mint facial toner diy

Ingredients:

1/2 cup chopped mint leaves (or two organic mint tea bags)
1/4 cup whole raspberries (any variety, rinsed)
3 cups water

Instructions:

Combine water and mint/tea in a small saucepan. Once the liquid comes to a boil, reduce the heat to a gentle simmer and add the raspberries. Let the mixture simmer for about another four minutes — just until you will smell the strong aroma of raspberries releasing (you don’t want to overcook the berries and have them lose their shape). Remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain the liquid into a container.

Application:

Use a cotton pad or ball to tone your face liberally after washing, using upward strokes.

Storage:

Will keep for two weeks, refrigerated.
