Pisces season is among us, let’s talk about that. It still feels like the beginning of the year, but it is the end of a full zodiac cycle. We are closing in on the end of winter and spring is near. Spring, the beginning of new life, the return of the sun, the return of warmth and blooming. Pisces season is a time for deep reflection on the year that has passed. We are asked to revisit what that last 12 months, the last 12 moons, have brought you, and what you have brought to the table in return.
* fun exercise: start writing on the full moons or new moons, and next year when we meet this season again, you will have a play by play of your entire last year in bits and pieces *
This last chunk of the year is a time for tying up loose ends. What have you been working on? What are you ready to let go of? What are you ready to build and to expand on? Let this all be guided by intuition. Let yourself feel your way through this month, and let that quiet inner voice be loud. Pisces, ruled by water, ruled by our emotional state, ruled by our ability to feel and to move. Think, Sacral Chakra energy. Think, Sacral Healing. We are all mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, and this is what binds us together. We are a human species, seeking and craving communication and what a gift it is to give and receive, to hold this ability to share the depths of our souls. Our collective purpose is to try to express to each other what our experience looks like, sounds like, feels like. Let your self-care be focused on the central theme of self-expression and know that is going to show up differently for us all. I’m here to offer to you some funky ways to draw out the Piscies-est parts of yourself to swim through the next new weeks, to close out this chapter and to get ready as you begin a new one.
Essential Oils – Ylang Ylang, Clary Sage, Geranium, Tangerine (in our Maqui Berry Beauty Drops). Get your essential oil game going with these scents. You can find all these in SkinOwl’s line of Beauty Drops, but there are countless other forms of incorporating essential oils into your world. Using a few drops in a diffuser can amp up your kitchen, bedroom, and even your space to meditate and write. You can add a few drops of essential oil to a bentonite clay mask. A drop to the wrist or the temples on your way out the house or when you get back home can be relaxing and therapeutic. You can also add a few drops of your essential oil of choice to a warm Epson Salt bath… just make sure to always do your research and test out a small patch before applying a new or unfamiliar essential oil to your skin!
Go Dancing – For so many reasons, dancing is medicine. Take the time to move your body freely, without bound, without restriction. Play loud music, and let the rhythm move you, let yourself get lost in the fun of shaking your hair, of jumping up and down and laughing while catching your breath. It’s a primal thing to move like this and there is nothing more sensual and satisfying than getting down like no one is watching. Get out those Bluetooth speakers and hook up your favorite jams, if there’s ever been a time to shake it out, it’s now.
Hydrate! – Waters and teas and juices. Oh my! Maybe your juicer has been collecting dust in the pantry for 3 months now, making friends with that popcorn maker you bought in 2010… totally hypothetical… but if that resonates, break that bad boy out. Get back into juicing fresh veggies and fruits in the mornings, you can even get sassy and try out some Pinterest recipes you’ve been pinning. Make the most of your Amazon prime account and order way too much tea for one human to consume. Invest in a fabulous reusable, sustainable water bottle that makes you proud to refill and drink half a gallon of water every day. January 1st tends to draw out the best in people with the diets and the gym and the new found morals, but often times by March 1st we have forgotten what our resolutions are, and that’s okay! Today you get to start again.
Be Around Water – Get to your nearest ocean, lake or river and spend some time just listening to the natural stream or waves that pass through. Let your imagination wander. If you are an artist, take your journal or drawing pad or guitar or harmonica, have fun with it following the same rhythm that nature presents you with, in all its organized chaos.
As you move through the final weeks of winter, I encourage you to explore the range of your emotions with patience and understanding and a ton of self-love sprinkled in. We have just closed out Aquarius season, which was intellectual and inventive and as much as we need that work to drive us to the next best version of ourselves, it is very taxing on the mind and the body. Once Spring is here, we are on the go, all over again and must get to work and start planting the seeds for our next harvest. Applaud yourself, you have worked your butt off to get to where you are now. Give yourself some time to let all your accomplishments sink in. Give yourself the gift of a massage, or a facial or an evening in a spa where you can unwind from the work that you have done and let yourself prepare for the work that is to come. We live in a very busy time where we forget to honor our spirit, as much as we honor our bodies and our minds. Pisces season is that time. This is the month where you look yourself in the mirror, green face mask and all, and wink at that warrior looking back at you.
Sincerely, your favorite Pisces,
Jasmine
