If you’ve been reading our posts here at SkinOwl for a little while, you have probably noticed that we love a good DIY. It’s so much fun to be able to create your own beauty product or delicious glow-getting snack from ingredients in your own home and kitchen. In honor of Halloweeen, we’ve decided to put together a list of our favorite spooky recipes inspired by our favorite SkinOwl ingredients to help you get prepped for the holiday.
Turmeric Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
If you’re the pumpkin carving type, don forget to collect the seeds this year to turn into a delicious, healthy, beautifying snack. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and a strong antioxidant that can help you detox from the inside out. Also, did you know that pumpkin seeds are super high in protein!
For this recipe, all you need are raw pumpkin seeds, olive oil, turmeric, salt and pepper, and sriracha.
If you do end up using the seeds from your own pumpkin, here are some great instructions on how to scoop and roast your pumpkin seeds.
Agua de Muerte
For all those moms who really like to go all out, this Halloween recipe will help take your Halloween party or dinner to the next level. The concoction is really easy; it’s just lemonade and activated charcoal and thankfully it doesn’t taste as questionable as it looks.
Adding activated charcoal to your beverages can boost your metabolism, detox your body from the toxins found in processed food and the environment, and possibly even cure hangovers. Those with tummy issues could try this spooky drink to help find some reprieve.
Pumpkin Carrot Cake Cupcakes
Whether you’re looking for a fun Halloween recipe for the kids or a delicious themed treat, these healthier alternatives to traditional cupcakes are sure to impress.
The vitamins found in pumpkins can boost your immune system, keep your eyes sharp, and even help aid weight loss. Carrots are packed with antioxidants, can boost digestion, and can lower your blood pressure.
