It’s been almost two weeks since our last Parliament Project! With four under our belt, we wanted to give you all a better glimpse into our evening of unplugging, connecting, and self-reflection.
If you didn’t know, The Parliament Project is a more than a networking event. This intimate dinner series was created in an effort by Annie, our founder, to create a safe space for people to reconnect with themselves. Each month, we gather together, feast on delicious food, and work on ourselves. We unplug from our devices and the outside world to discuss issues we’re facing in our daily lives.
This past month we focused on adult play. We talked about how, as an adult, we take time out of our days to do many things, even create a moment for selfcare, but what we don’t often indulge in are acts of play.
As Annie so eloquently says…
“We each hold ourselves accountable for work. For rest. But not for play. Going out to dinner is not play. Meeting up for cocktails with friends is not play. Flying a kite is play. Playing board games and singing in the car is play. We all need it. [Our] goal was to help restore a bit of that in ourselves.”
Here at The Parliament Project, we believe that self-work is the basis for healthy and authentic relationships, balance, and success. Looking to gather together with us here at SkinOwl, and other like-minded individuals?
