Did you know it’s National Angel Food Cake Day? We’re pretty excited about it over here at SkinOwl, so we decided to share a few of our favorite recipes to celebrate.
Pumpkin Pie and Vanilla Ice Cream
Get in the Fall mood with a pumpkin pie angel food cake. They’re so easy to make and are sure to be a crowd pleaser. You can either simply follow the instructions to on your pumpkin puree can or try the vegan recipe I used here to make the filling. Pour about two spoonfuls into each Angel Food Cake cup and bake in the oven for 15-20 min on 350 degrees. Finish it off with a scoop of ice cream. So easy, so delicious, and so autumnal!
Chocolate and Almond Butter
If you’re a chocolate and peanut butter fan, you’ll definitely be interested in this recipe. Simply mix 1/4 c chocolate chips with two tablespoons of almond butter and 1 teaspoon of butter. Melt in the microwave on 15-second intervals. Mine only needed to be microwaved twice. Mix your melted ingredients together and finish it off with two tablespoons of almond milk to thin out the chocolate mixture. Then simply dip your Angel Food Cake into the chocolate and almond butter mix. I finished them off with some delicious strawberries, but raspberries would also be amazing!
Classic Strawberries and Cream
This is the easiest and most traditional recipe of the bunch! Squirt some whipped cream in the center of your Angel Food Cake. If you really want to go all out, make yours from scratch with whipping cream, a little sugar, and some vanilla extract. Next, finely chop some strawberries as a garnish and sprinkle them on top of the whipped cream. Such a classicly delicious way to enjoy this holiday!
I hope you enjoy making these adorable mini Angel Food Cakes! We certainly enjoyed making (but mostly eating) them!
